Jones’s “rhythm section” is a tall, taciturn bass player in pork pie hat. Astute observers recognize the bass player as Penn Jillette, a.k.a. the articulate half of Penn & Teller. That’s right. The backup guy in the “Mike Jones Duo” is the star pianist’s employer. Judy Carmichael will join longtime pal, Mike Jones at the piano for some swingin’ duets and sing along with Penn and Mike. She’ll sit the two down for a chat about it all to share with the audience how Penn discovered Mike in a bar in Vegas and Penn went from juggler to magician, to “America’s foremost bebop upright bass-playing magician.”"
