A GIRL LIKE YOU, BLOOD & ROSES, ONLY A MEMORY -- when gritty guitar-driven rock needed a band that could break through onto pop radio and keep rock ROCKIN, it was the Smithereens featuring Pat DiNizio that heralded in a new era, paving the way for bands like Pearl Jam and Nirvana, who often cited Smithereens as influences. With the untimely loss of Suffolk Theater favorite, Pat DiNizio, the band lives on with the help of rock icon Marshall Crenshaw, himself a legendary singer-songwriter with hits SOMEDAY SOMEWAY, WHENEVER YOU'RE ON MY MIND, and TIL I HEAR IT FROM YOU, which he co-wrote for the Gin Blossoms.
