Description

The Tasks Yet to Be Done:

Dr. Martin Luther King’s 1968 Visit to Long Island

presented by Dr. Zebulon Vance Miletsky

SUNDAY, JANUARY 16, 2:30 p.m.

AT THE LIBRARY

Dr. Zebulon Miletsky, associate professor of Africana Studies at Stony Brook University will speak about

Martin Luther King’s message sent to Long Islanders on that fateful March 26, 1968. He will discuss what

Dr. King’s message means for us today as we consider Johnson’s words, “the tasks yet to be done.”  As we look for new ways to work through these socially turbulent times, King’s words offer us a vision for a possible way forward.
