Description

Vivian Gornick is an acclaimed writer of nonfiction and a former Guggenheim Fellow whose books have been nominated for two National Book Critics Circle Awards and a National Book Award. Her body of work includes Fierce Attachments: A Memoir, dealing with her relationship to her mother; The Situation and the Story: The Art of Personal Narrative; Approaching Eye Level; Emma Goldman: Revolution as a Way of Life; The Men in My Life: Critical Essay;, The Solitude of Self: Thinking About Elizabeth Cady Stanton; and The End of the Novel of Love. A former staff writer on The Village Voice, her articles and reviews have appeared in The Nation, The New York Times Book Review and Magazine, The Washington Post, Los Angeles Times, The New Yorker, Bookforum, and The Threepenny Review.
