Description

Enjoy the remaining fall colors in a varied habitat which includes marine bay, tidal river, freshwater streams, ponds, salt marsh and much more; explore two trails along the Carmans River; you can drop out after the first trail (3 miles) if you wish; heavy rain cancels;  from L.I.E. Exit 68 or NY 27 Exit 58, go south on C.R. 46, William Floyd Pkwy., to C.R. 80, Montauk Hwy.; go west (right) to first traffic light; turn left onto Smith Rd. Refuge entrance is on right after you cross the LIRR tracks and pass the service entrance.
