Two Winter Break Workshops will be offered at Ward Melville Heritage Organization’s Educational & Cultural Center with acclaimed puppeteer and artist Liz Joyce from Goat on a Boat and musician and storyteller Johnny Cuomo.  Both events will be held February 18 through 20 from 10 am to 11:30 am.   

From shadow puppets to moving mouth puppets, artist Liz Joyce from “Goat on a Boat” fame will guide children from 6 to 11 year olds in creating a Puppet Theatre and Puppet Making Workshops.  Their creations will be used to tell jokes, create short vignettes and also videos. It will be held on the 1st floor of the Cultural Center.  The cost for this workshop is $100 pp for all three days and there is a 10 person minimum, 15 maximum.

Music Mornings with Johnny Cuomo offers songs, stories, and movement set to music with activities to celebrate winter.  The cost for all three days is $85 pp with a 15 person minimum, 20 maximum. This program is for children 3 to 5 years old of all abilities accompanied by a caregiver and will be held on the 2nd floor of the Cultural Center.

 

Individual day pricing is available for both programs.  All proceeds go to benefit WMHO’s mission to protect, preserve and interpret its historic and environmentally sensitive properties and to offer future education programming.
