The demand for farmers’ markets on Long Island have increased, as people are becoming more health conscious and concerned about where produce is sourced. A farmers’ market allows the community access to sustainable and locally grown produce along with high quality prepared foods, meat, dairy, breads, cheese, wine, pies, honey, maple syrup, crafts etc. During the market we would like to also provide different types of entertainment and fun crafts for kids. This will be fun for the whole family. There are so many benefits to having a farmers’ market.
They help reduce food miles, thus vehicle pollution, noise and fuel use.
They play an important role in educating the consumer as to the production and origin of their food. They stimulate local economic development by increasing employment,
That leads to encouraging consumers to support local business, and thus keeping the money within the local community and let’s not forgot they are fun !!!
The market runs from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm every Sunday December though April
