Date & Time
During World War II, women secret agents of the British Special Operations Executive (SOE) infiltrated Nazi-occupied France and worked with the French Resistance in disrupting and destroying vital enemy operations in the lead-up to the Allied invasion of the continent. Playing an integral role in Winston Churchill’s “Shadow War,” these courageous women crossed highly-gendered cultural and military borders in order to carry out their subversive and exceedingly dangerous missions. They lived in constant fear of capture, torture and execution and paid a heavy price for their patriotism.
