Arboretum Inspirations: A Multi-Media Art Exhibit Created by Women—Inspired by Nature.
Inspired by the oasis of beauty surrounding the Bayard Cutting Arboretum, members of Women Sharing Art, Inc. present Arboretum Inspirations 2019. This 33-member group of talented women includes painters, photographers, potters, jewelers, glass, mosaic, and mixed media artists. Using the Manor and surrounding nature as muse, these accomplished artists have created a multi- media exhibit that adorns the walls of the Westbrook Manor House.
Throughout the halls of this idyllic estate, parquet floors, marble fireplaces, intricately carved wood, and original Tiffany stained-glass windows highlight its period charm. Renowned landscape architect Frederick Law Olmsted, creator of NYC’s Central Park and the Emerald Necklace of Boston, conceived the beautiful grounds surrounding the Manor House. A pastoral style was used to create a sense of the peacefulness of nature and to sooth and restore the spirit. As artists and Long Islanders, the members of the not-for-profit 501(c)(3), Women Sharing Art, Inc. have a special kinship to this historical gem.
Most of the work in this exhibit is for sale, April 4 thru May 5—just in time for Mother's Day! Why not treat Mom to art inspired by this Long Island jewel.
