The Eight Annual Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month is organized by the Suffolk County Asian American Advisory Board, Suffolk County Office of Minority Affairs , Wellbrook Foundation, Inc., and Vajaradhammapdip Buddhist Temple.
The afternoon's entertainment includes multi‐cultural booths from eleven (11) different cultures such as Bangladesh, China, India, Japan, Korea, Nepal, Pakistan, Philippines, Taiwan, Thailand and Vietnam with arts and crafts displays, open theater, tea ceremony, photo exhibit, workshops, and vendor booths selling small items indigenous to countries represented. At 1:30 pm, we will be featuring the AAAB/Wellbrook Foundation Youth Orchestra who will explore the world of music ranging from Renaissance to 21st Century. At 4:30 pm, the highlight of the afternoon activities will start with an awards ceremony for “Distinguished Asian Americans”, plus multi‐cultural dances, social harmony writing contest, musical and vocal performances by featured Asian artist from Thailand.
