Long Island University (LIU) welcomes the Long Island chapter of ASQ, the American Society for Quality. This professional organization is dedicated to the progress of quality practices in all industries on Long Island. Members will gather on April 21 for the 2017 Symposium at LIU Post in Brookville, N.Y. to discuss quality and innovation in terms of sustainability, education, business, health care, financial, and energy.
ASQ offers a variety of educational programs, courses, seminars, job postings and professional articles related to the area of quality assurance and quality systems. Attendees come from industries such as health care, pharmaceutical, cosmetic, construction, aerospace, engineering, and much more.
This year the keynote speakers are L. Hunter Lovins, President of Natural Capitalism Solutions; Dane Stangler, Vice President of Research and Policy for the Ewing Marion Kauffman Foundation; and Raj Echambdi, Senior Associate Dean of MBA Programs & Strategic Innovation at the University of Illinois's College of Business. Other speakers include Michael Vagell, Ph.D., Applications Director, Sartorius Corporation; Dominick Avento III, Executive Director of QA and Compliance, Applied DNA Sciences.Registration for the event is free and available at ASQLongIsland.org
