Maxfield Parrish, also known as the Master of Make-Believe, was among the greatest illustrators of the first half of the 20th century. His enigmatic and luminescent illustrations coupled with his vibrant works of art made him one of America’s most beloved, popular and respected artists.
Judy and Laurence Cutler, co-founders of the National Museum of American Illustration in Newport, RI and widely-recognized experts on American illustration art, will discuss the varying styles and trends throughout Parrish’s eight-decade long career leading to his amazing success, as well as that of his contemporaries and how the greatest Golden Age illustrators each influenced one another.
The pair will be signing their book, Maxfield Parrish and The American Imagists from 4 PM - 5 PM.
Admission is $5 for members, $15 for nonmembers and includes Museum admission. Registration is suggested.
