Get ready to deal those cards and tiles —and also do a little fall shopping — at Card Party for a Cure on Tuesday, Nov. 15 at the beautiful Muttontown Country Club, 5933 Northern Blvd., in East Norwich, Long Island.
Participants may choose to play Canasta, Mah Jong or Bridge to raise money for the Diabetes Research Institute (DRI), the largest and most comprehensive research center with the mission to find a biological cure for diabetes.
Hosted by Roberta Waller and Wendy Waller, this first-time event, which will run from 10:30 am to 3:30 pm, welcomes both novice and experienced card players and features a variety of top-notch vendors showcasing the latest in fashions, handbags, gift items and jewelry, to the delight of all.
Card Party for a Cure attendees will have a chance to win a $1,000 gift certificate to London Jewelers, a designer snakeskin bag by Nancy Gonzalez and an array of home good items from MacKenzie Childs, all while enjoying both a delicious breakfast and luncheon, and engaging in great conversation with longtime friends and new ones.
Card Party for a Cure individual tickets are $125, or $100 for lunch only, and can be purchased on line atDiabetesResearch.org/Card-Party. Roberta and Bruce Waller are presenting sponsors and more opportunities are still available with sponsorship packages ranging from $500 to $5,000 for the event.
