Christopher utilized images from local historical societies, private collections, and The African American Museum of Nassau County to author,  "Civil Rights on Long Island".  The interactive lecture will detail the historic race relations and  struggles for equality across Long Island. These historical, sometimes overlooked, events paved the way for milestones, and complications in segregation.  The program will be held at the Islip Public Library, 71 Monell Ave, 7-9 pm and is free and open to the public.  Books available for sale after the event, refreshments.
