The Nassau County Firefighters Museum & Education Center will be offering free admission all day Friday, September 11th. The Museum’s 9/11 exhibit provides a solemn venue for those wishing to remember and honor those dedicated 343 firefighters who lost their lives on September 11, 2001.
The exhibit, “Lives of Service; Celebrating the Heroes of September 11th”, was created in 2011 for the 10-year anniversary of 9/11 and is now a permanent part of the Museum. The exhibit highlights the numerous volunteer firefighters from Nassau County who were lost. Artifacts from that tragic day are on display as well as information on the events. The Museum is providing free admission so all who wish to reflect on this anniversary have an appropriate and respectful place to do so.
