Description

Perhaps the most lavish parties ever held in the pages of American literature were the galas that Jay Gatsby threw at his estate on Long Island's North Shore.  The original Gatsby mansion that inspired F. Scott Fitzgerald has long since been bulldozed...Join historian and best selling author Monica Randall for this colorful slide presentation.  Included in the program will be the little known details and photos of the infamous 1955 Woodward murder case that took place in Oyster Bay Cover, the mysterious F.W. Woolworth mansion, 'Winfield,' and Furguson Castle with its floors paved with tombstones.  A new The Great Gatsby film starring Leonardo DiCaprio will open May 10, 2013.
