Description

The Holocaust Memorial & Tolerance Center of Nassau County (HMTC) Reel Upstanders Film Series presents a screening of the documentary film, "My Italian Secret: The Forgotten Heroes," directed by Oren Jacoby and narrated by Isabella Rossellini. The documentary tells the story of cyclist Gino Bartali and other courageous Italians who rescued Jews, partisans and refugees from Nazi-occupied Italy. The film uses rare documentary images recorded by Italians, Germans, Americans and British during the War.

Reel Upstanders was established in honor of David Taub (1932-2010), a Holocaust Survivor and respected friend of HMTC.
