Pizza Lovers Wanted for Eating Contest at the Long Island Family Festival

CALLING ALL PIZZA LOVERS AND PROFESSIONAL EATERS! The 5^th Annual Long Island Family Festival will be hosting the annual LI Family Festival Pizza Eating Contest sponsored by Joe's Pizza on Saturday, September 15, and Sunday, September 16, at 4pm.   Competitors will gather at the LI Family Festival Community Stage by 3:45pm.

The rules are simple -- eat a pie as quick as you can.  The contestant who finishes the pie first is declared the LI Family Festival Pizza Eating Contest Champion for the day!

The delicious pizza pies used in this contest are provided by Joe’s Pizza, located at 88 Montauk Highway in Copiague.  Admission to the contest is free.   All participants will receive a free T-shirt, opportunities to win great prizes, and a chance to scarf down the best pizza in town. 

The Long Island Family Festival has become an annual tradition for Copiague and the Town of Babylon.  This fun-filled family festival will take place on Friday, September 14 from 6-10 p.m. featuring live music, food and carnival),  Saturday, September 15  from 11:00 a.m. – 10 p.m. and Sunday, September 16 from 11 a.m. – 8 p.m. (live music, food, carnival, vendors) along the seaside beach at Babylon’s beautiful Tanner Park in Copiague. Admission is free.

During this exciting weekend, Tanner Park will be magically transformed into a fun-filled family venue with plenty of exciting entertainment, events and surprises taking place.   Weekend highlights include:

• Exhilarating carnival with great rides

• Musical entertainment will fill the air at the Festival beginning Friday evening and continuing through the weekend.  Featured groups will include Rocketman: The Elton John Tribute Band (Sat, 6:30 pm) and That's 70's Band (Sat, 8:30 pm)
• Good Samaritan Hospital Medical C enter Kids Korner showcasing Hiccups the Clown
• Atlantic Toyota  Presents Gamin' Ride Mobile Theater (Sunday)

• “Oceanview Vendor Show” which will include quality vendors with a variety of great items
• LI Pet Expo In the Park with Pet-Related Vendors and Performance Dogs
• Corky’s International Canine Haute Couture Fashion Show where dogs dress up and show their “style”
• Ultimate Champions Tae Kwon Do Demonstration (Saturday)
• LI Family Festival's Annual Pizza Eating Contest  (Sat/Sun at 4pm)
