Description

Welcome to a fairy tale world where NOTHING is what it should be.
The Prince isn't charming. The Princess isn't sleeping. The sidekick isn't helping. The ogre is the hero.

Sound familiar? You may have seen the movie, but you've NEVER seen Shrek like this!

Join us as we visit the Swamp in search of adventure, romance, bodily functions, and all around freaky people!
Our action opens as we see young Shrek (David Schiller) and young Fiona (Samantha Schlectman), each introduced to their respective fates by their well-intentioned parents (Gary & Andrea Conwell, and Martin Solomon & Gail Ellis). Quick, somebody call CPS!

We then check in on them many years later, as they wait for their real lives to begin. While Fiona pines away in her tower over the years, we watch her grow from a child, to a teen (Jordan Coene) to a very impatient, storybook-obsessed adult (Renee Conwell). Meanwhile, Shrek (Barry Block) is happily enjoying his time in solitude in his swamp, when it is overrun by Fairy Tale creatures who have been banished from their homes in the city of Duloc by head honcho Lord Farquaad (Gary Conwell), who is CLEARLY compensating for something. Shrek teams up with Donkey (Samantha Epstein), a miniature, irritating, TALKING beast of burden, who is like a GPS with fur, to travel to Duloc and get his swamp back. Unfortunately for him, to get his swamp back, he has to travel to the castle of the Fire Breathing Dragon (Jordan Coene) to rescue Fiona and bring her back as Lord Farquaad's bride-to-be! What could go wrong?

Featuring a host of talented actors, singers, musicians, and a very aggressive dragon, this uproarious show will delight parents and kids (and grandparents, and uncles, and nieces, and nephews, and...well, you get the idea).

Will Shrek get his swamp back? Will Donkey EVER stop talking? Will Fiona actually marry Lord Farquaad? And WHAT IS THAT SMELL??? The answers to these questions and more can be found at our production of SHREK: The Musical! Show dates are April 29th and 30th, and May 6th and 7th. Saturday night shows are at 8:00pm, and Sunday afternoon at 2:00pm. Check our web page (http://www.templeemanueleastmeadow.com/) for ticket forms. ($18/adult, $14 seniors, $9 between 5-13 years old).
See you in the swamp!
