Description

The Civil Rights Act became law 50 years ago, and that same year Cesar Chavez founded the United Farmworkers Union as a popular movement for expanding immigrants' labor and human rights. As part of Hispanic Heritage Month, join us for a viewing of the new film Cesar Chavez (2014), followed by a discussion on the film and current immigration policy debates with Lori Flores, professor of history, Stony Brook University, and Emma Kreyche, organizing director, Worker Justice Center of New York.
