Come admire the unique horse hair pottery and stoneware showcased at the Garden City Public Library from September 1–30, 2015 at 60 Seventh St., in Garden City. View beautiful and unusual hand-created pieces designed by professional ceramist Sue Adler of Locust Valley. Exhibits are free and open to the public during regular library hours. Sue Adler’s pottery reflects the many influences from the layers of her life. Her equestrian passion resonates in the one of a kind horse hair fired pieces she creates. A love of all things botanical is expressed in her hand built and wheel thrown ware. Sue, a native Long Islander attended Farmingdale State College (State University of New York) where she earned a degree in Ornamental Horticulture. She studied at Maple Leaf Pottery in Sea Cliff, N.Y. and is a member of Potters Council and the Long Island Craft Guild. Her work is available at The Rubin Museum, New York, N.Y.; Trapani Art & Frame Gallery, Manhasset, N.Y.; Curds & Whey, Locust Valley, N.Y., and various crafts shows on Long Island and by appointment at her Locust Valley studio.
