Wheels For Chris

Christopher Jacobsen is a young man who was injured on November 2nd, 1989, at the age of 15, by a hit and run driver in Bayport, NY. This took place on Montauk Highway, just steps from home, and was never solved. As a result, he has a Traumatic Brain Injury and is confined to a wheelchair. Chris is nonverbal but mentally high functioning. He was able to graduate from Bayport-Blue Point High School during his recovery.As a victim of such a heinous crime, a van was gifted to Chris by The Bayport-Blue Point Lions Club many years ago. Christopher depends solely on his handicapped equipped van, which has recently become unusable. Without his transportation, Christopher is no longer able to take part in any of these activities and is restricted from medical appointments, which is an unhealthy situation for him. Unfortunately, the family is not in a position to purchase a van for Chris. Anyone who has ever met fun-loving Christopher would know how much he has to offer and we hope we can help him regain the ability to experience life. He would otherwise be confined to his home and is now cut off from society. Please help Christopher obtain these goals. Any amount would be appreciated.
