The purpose of early-stage support groups is to provide a safe and supportive environment of peers who are living in the early stages of Alzheimer’s disease or related dementia and the care partners. These groups offer dementia-related education, emotional support and connections with resources so that the group members may enhance their lives in the midst of the disease.
Due to COVID-19 precautions, this group has been changed from in-person to Telephone/Virtual.
This early stage support group is called our Early Stage Meetup. Running concurrently with this group is a caregiver support group. This group is part of a series. Constituents must call the helpline at 800.272.3900 to inquire and then must be screened by the Long Island chapter in order to be registered.
