December Break Super Science

Join us this December Break for some Super Science!

Many comics pull their fiction from actual science; join us during the holiday break for some super hands-on activities free with museum admission.

Come in costume during the December Break for a chance to win tickets to Cradle-Con!

Spider-Man Penny Climbers
From December 21st through the 30th, we'll have a family craft station set up for you to make Amazing Spider-Man Penny Climbers! From 12-4 pm make climbers and learn about the principle of friction.

Hands-on Science Zones
From December 27th to the 30th you will be able to explore beyond what our eyes can see with infrared light and heat mapping, perfect for detecting those with the power of invisibility. You can also explore the force of magnetism that protects the Earth and us, humans, from the Sun’s radiation, which would harm us, not turn us into superheroes!

Avengers Night at the Cradle!
Saturday, December 28, come watch Avengers: Endgame at 3 pm or 6 pm in our dome theater and geek-out with the NY Avengers Cosplay Group from 6-8 pm! Meet and take pictures with some of your favorite Avengers and come in costume for a quick cosplay contest and a chance to win tickets to Cradle-Con! Separate admission required. Long Island Garden Railway Society Holiday Display
The Long Island Garden Railway Society will be at the museum for the December Break with its annual G scale model train display from December 21 through January 1. Free with Museum Admission.

Space & Apollo Exhibits
As we continue to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Apollo missions, it's a great time to come in and check out the largest collection of Apollo artifacts on display anywhere including an actual Lunar Module!

Planetarium Dome Theater
Our immersive planetarium and full-dome theater are one of the largest and most powerful virtual reality experiences in the world! Separate admission required. Visit our show schedule page for showtimes, more info, and trailers.

Guided Tours on Weekends
One of our docents will guide you through the galleries giving you a close and personal look at Long Island's aerospace journey. Saturdays & Sundays, 12:00-4:00 pm, sign-up in atrium upon arrival. Free with Museum Admission.
