Using basic beginner weaving techniques, we will explore weaving into a wooden base by using twining and start/stop weaving methods shaping the basket as we weave. We will add color and style using dyed reed and learning three-rod wale in multiple rows with a center band for separation. Students will also be taught how to insert a wooden handle and lock it in with the lashing on the final rim row. A colorful egg can be added to the finished basket for added bling. Come enjoy a few hours with like-minded crafters and learn something new, taking home your prize at the end. As the program runs through lunch time, please bring a bag lunch or light snack for yourself. Must be 16 years or older to attend.
