Description

Katharine Park is a junior at Great Neck North High School who will be published in an upcoming edition of The F. Scott Fitzgerald Review for her essay about the author's time in Great Neck. Her paper was also accepted at the 2023 International F. Scott Fitzgerald Conference in Sweden last July, where she presented on a panel on "Contextualizing Gatsby: History, Culture, and Place". For her research, she utilized much of the local history archives at the Great Neck Library. Her talk will be about the historical, geographic, demographic, and literary developments in Great Neck and Manhasset Neck that led to the inspiration for The Great Gatsby.
