Date & Time
"As a Club, we have been donating to local pantries in bulk - with your donations (and ours!) since April.
Thank you for ALL you have done to help thus far! We are not stopping until everyone is fed. Lofty goal? Sure. But we're runners. We are used to setting (and crushing!) lofty goals.
Food insecurity is all too real for many Long Island families. We know we have asked throughout the beautiful spring and summer months and told you the need was great. That was true. But, here's the thing: although the need was huge in the summer, it was was small in comparison to what the colder months will bring. Farmers markets and seasonal produce will not be available to people, and their food budget will need to stretch beyond their limits.
Contactless dropoff takes place at the Running Club’s office/warehouse, 101 Dupont Street, Suite 24, Plainview, on Tuesdays, Wednesdays or Thursdays from 10:00 AM to Noon or 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM. Leave donations at the loading dock door.
Pantries are especially requesting personal hygiene products (e.g.; hand sanitizer, soap, shampoo, toothpaste, deodorant, menstrual products, etc.) and baby items such as diapers and baby wipes.
As always, non-perishable food items are needed. Grocery store gift cards are most welcome as well, and can be dropped off or mailed to the GLIRC Clubhouse.
If you cannot give in person, but would like to donate money to be used for our food pantry drives, we have created a PayPal fund. CLICK HERE TO DOANTE VIA PAYPAL. It will be used to buy supermarket gift cards and essential goods requested by community centers. Click on the button below. We THANK YOU in advance and appreciate any and all donations!"
