Description

We just received our permit today and have been approved by the Village of Farmingdale to use their Village Green as well as their Town for our 5th Annual Leukemia/Lymphoma Dog Walk in September. We have now set the date which will be Saturday September 29, 2018 from 11:00am to 4pm. This is our 5th year of holding this walk and we have raised over $12,000.00 in the last 4 years. We are asking that everyone who will be participating to arrive at 11:00am to sign in and the walk will start at 12pm. We will be walking .6 of a mile down Main Street in Farmingdale to the beginning of Main Street where we will have someone set up to give everyone water for their dogs as well as their humans and then walk .6 of a mile back to the Village Green. Total mileage walked will be 1.2 miles. There will be breakfast and lunch for everyone who walks with us and like the prior years we will be raffling off some really great prizes. I am contacting the media again so hopefully we can have the walk covered. All money raised will be going straight to the Leukemia/Lymphoma Society. Please SAVE THE DATE Saturday September 29, 2018 as we hope to get as many dogs as possible to walk with us. This event will be even bigger than the one we held last year. We really hope you will join us. If you can't attend then we hope you will be able to make a donation to the Leukemia/Lymphoma Society and mail a check made payable to them to C/O Ekberg 38 Cranford Road, Plainview, New York 11803 and we will give those checks to Nicole the day of the walk. We are all a part of Team Lou Tufano as Nicole Tufano who is one of our members is on the board and we are walking on behalf of her team. Please write team Lou Tufano on your checks. I think almost everyone either knows someone who has had cancer or lost someone to cancer and this would be a good way to honor those people who have either fought to survive or lost their battle.
