Description

MASHUP -Stories Into Song is an in-the-moment show featuring original songs inspired by stories told by some of New York's hottest storytellers, performed by singers matched to the style and energy of story to song. Collaborators Jude Treder-Wolff, a songwriter/storyteller and songwriter/composer Wells Hanley bring their 2nd collection of songs inspired by stories in this performance, with stories by:

Bob Brader, an award-winning writer and actor who has brought his solo shows Smoker and Spitting In The Face Of The Devil to theaters around the world and was recently featured on the ground-breaking podcast RISK!

David Lawson, who performs in storytelling shows all over NYC and the east coast, has been featured on Mortified, Story Collider and other podcasts, and travels with his solo storytelling shows all over the country.

Mel Dockery, who has been featured on the Moth Radio Hour, PBS' Stories From The Stage and is actve in the vibrant NYC storytelling scene.

Terri Morrissey, who is co-owner and co-founder of The Performing Arts Studio in Port Jefferson, and a theater teacher to students of all ages for the past 25 years.

The songs inspired by the stories will be performed by:

Christina D'Orta Muens (Phantom Of The Opera-Christine, Evita - Evita Perrone, West Side Story-Maria, Anything Goes - Reno Sweeney, Mama Mia- Donna and many more lead musical theater roles, as well as performing the Doo Wop circuit around the country)

Jim Sluder, (Drowsy Chaperone-George, Into the Woods-Baker, Jesus Christ Superstar-Judas, Cabaret-Emcee, Little Shop of Horrors-Seymour, and Smokey Joe's Cafe at Long Island theaters Theater Three, Broadhollow, Smithtown Performing Arts and others. Jim has also performed at Dollywood, King's Dominion, and aboard Celebrity Cruises' Galaxy)

Jude Treder-Wolff is a singer/songwriter, writer/performer and creative arts therapist who is host/creator of (mostly) TRUE THINGS, a monthly game wrapped in a storytelling show. She’s active in the national and NY storytelling scenes, with acclaimed appearances on RISK! live show and podcast, The Armando Diaz Experience andMortified, StoryFest at The Peoples Improv TheaterThis Really Happened, New York Story Exchange, Chicago Fringe Festival, San Francisco Fringe Festival, Midtown International Theatre Festival, among many others. Her solo show This Isn't Helping was featured at the 2017 Speak Up! Rise Up! Wells Hanley is a composer, songwriter, musician and arranger who creates the arrangements and music tracks for the songs in MASHUP-Stories Into Song. He has performed at major festivals and clubs all over the U.S. and Europe, including the Spoleto Festival in Italy, the Montreaux Jazz Festival in Switzerland and The North Sea Jazz Festival in the Netherlands, as well as Birdland and the Iridium in New York City. He has performed and/or recorded with a variety of artists including Dave Matthews, David Liebman and John McCutcheon.
