Nassau Community College's Africana Studies and Theatre & Dance Department present, Sistas on Fire! A Newsical by Professor Marcia McNair and Professor Anissa Moore. Directed by Juson Williams.
In Sistas on Fire! A Newsical, the personal becomes the political when passionately-opinionated African American women speak their minds in a soul-stirring mix of song, dance, spoken word poetry and prose. The interrelated dramatic monologues examine pressing social issues from an African American female perspective.
All shows 8:00 PM except Sundays at 3:00 PM on NCC's Mainstage Theatre, Building W.
All proceeds from Sunday, February 2nd show will go to the Professor Kenneth V. Jenkins Memorial Scholarship Fund. The scholarship supports African Diaspora who demonstrate academic achievement and outstanding participation in campus and community activities. A reception will follow in the NCC's Theatre Building sponsored by Black History Month Committee.
