Photographing Newborns Workshop This event is appropriate for beginner level and above!

Capturing the miracle of a newborn's first days is one of the most unique photographic experiences a photographer can have! This three hour workshop will help improve your skills, creativity, and confidence, while giving you the technical information needed to allow you to take stunning newborn portraits.

In this workshop, we'll explore and analyze the newborn photography shoot from start to finish; beginning with your initial contact with the "mother-to-be," and ending with your finished product. You'll see what a newborn photo shoot should look like, while you test different lighting methods, and explore the looks that various prime and zoom lenses can create. Students are encouraged to bring their own cameras, flashes, and lenses, and to open their imagination. We'll have an array of objects on-hand to be used as props and we'll even practice how to position a newborn infant.

I have been a portrait photographer since the early 1980's...you can imagine how many children and families I have photographed over the years! The experience has been a continuing work in progress... experimenting, evaluating, critiquing, and constantly learning. There are always new methods, new pieces of equipment, and new ideas that you will learn from others or create from your own imagination. Whenever you try something new in photography, it adds a refreshing quality to your portraits.

Cost: $75 if pre-registered, $85 if signing up the day of the class.
