Artist, curator and critic Janet Goleas will discuss Mary Gabriel’s acclaimed book, “Ninth Street Women:” Lee Krasner, Elaine de Kooning, Grace Hartigan, Joan Mitchell and Helen Frankenthaler. She will lead a conversation about the cultural revolution described by Gabriel. Focused on five pioneering women who defied the odds during the frenzied turbulence of the New York School, “Ninth Street Women” tells the story of the rise of modernism in post-war America.
