End of a Cultural Era on LI
After 71 years of Lincoln Center-caliber performances here on LI, the Freeport Community Concert Association will, sadly, stage its last concert on Saturday, June 1. This Gala Finale features Paragon Ragtime Orchestra, performing traditional Ragtime and other Early American favorites, and they will also accompany a silent Buster Keaton film.
During its historic run, FCCA has hosted a wide variety of luminaries such as Isaac Stern, the Joffrey and St. Petersburg Ballet Companies, symphony orchestras of Prague, Vienna,Warsaw and across the US, as well as stars from the Met to Jazz at Lincoln Center to Broadway.
