As temperatures tonight fall back to below zero well inland and into the single digits most elsewhere, wind chills will remain at least a few degrees colder as brisk northwest winds take some time to diminish. Wind chills will be mostly 5 to 10 below zero, but may reach 15 below in a few inland spots, mainly in the higher elevations. Temperatures and wind chills will both moderate by Tuesday afternoon as the core of the Arctic air mass bringing US this cold begins to slide east. Description

Port Rowing to host Gold Coast Classic Indoor Regatta

The hallmark of winter training for any rower is the Indoor Regatta. The Gold Coast Classic Indoor Regatta provides a competitive arena for a rower to measure improvement or set new goals. Port Rowing welcomes novice and experienced rowers to the 8thannual Gold Coast Classic Indoor Regatta on Sunday, January 27, 2019 with erg races for all ages and abilities. 

Events for young rowers from 5thgrade up through U19 are scheduled throughout the day. Beginning at 8:am, races will be held for adult novice and master rowers. No experience necessary. Plus, an inclusion event for the adaptive rowing team and peer mentors will be held at 8:30 am. Spectators are free and welcome to come cheer on the rowers. Refreshments and event merchandise available for purchase. Registration fees apply for all participants and signed waivers are required.

Port Rowing is a not-cut, community rowing club with teams for 7th-12thgrade students, adults, and teens with special needs.
