Librarian Fabio Montella will address the life and semi-professional baseball career of Mr. Ralph “Sammy” Bunn, an individual whose life and semi-professional baseball career epitomizes the microhistories of local baseball and racial barrier-breaking. Mr. Bunn was a resident of Long Island, who appears to be the earliest known African American to play on a white semi-professional Long Island baseball team. No registration required.
