Date & Time
In Lee and Me, Ruth Appelhof has written an intimate portrait of the artist Lee Krasner, a task for which she was uniquely qualified. As a young scholar, Ms. Appelhof spent the summer of 1974 with the artist in East Hampton. The two remained friends as Appelhof went on to direct museums across the country, and Krasner produced a major body of work. Ms. Appelhof’s talk will offer a friend’s perspective on Lee Krasner, a woman with a very intense and idiosyncratic personality, as well as a scholar’s informed view of an influential American Abstract Expressionist. Co-Sponsored with the Rogers Memorial Library.
