Your Time For Creative Empowerment Inc. will conduct its FREE annual Self-Empowering Workshop for Junior High School through College Students and their Parents/Guardians to raise awareness of, and to provide tools for navigating, the many challenges which can interfere with school and college success, as well as, a healthy family dynamic.
This year's Workshop will focus primarily on when and how to say, “yes” and “no”, and how to respect oneself and others in social relationships as a tool for self-improvement and personal development which will be reinforced through arts-related activities. Attendees can look forward to age-appropriate discussions facilitated by competent Resource Persons who will also address high school and college life issues, such as study habits, time management, values, peer pressure, peer relationships, internet safety, separation from home, alcohol, drugs, and sex.
Business and community partnership support, including the involvement of local Artists and Licensed Mental Health Practitioners is encouraged. The list of sponsors and donors thus far includes: Molloy College, Nassau County DA Community Outreach, The Safe Center LI, Hispanic Brotherhood of Rockville Centre, Madona Cole Originals, Bed Bath Beyond, Art League of Long Island, My Time Has Come Program, Gino's Pizza and Italian Restaurant (Rockville Centre), AT&T (North Bellmore) and Island Buffet Hibachi Grill (Baldwin).
Complimentary breakfast and lunch will be served, and online Pre-Registration is necessary.
