Meeting at Hauppauge Public Library - Classroom A & B - 1373 Veterans Memorial Highway
Telephone company retirees from throughout Long Island and New York City will gather for an open discussion about key issues that impact their collective retirement futures. The event is sponsored by the Association of BellTel Retirees, a non-profit group that works to protect the pensions and benefits of over 134,000 Verizon retirees, many of which live in the greater New York City area.
The event is free and will take place Tuesday, August 21,2018 at 11 am at the Hauppauge Public Library, 1373 Veterans Memorial Highway, Hauppauge NY 11788. The meeting will address several salient issues relating to retirement benefits, including: pension protection; the dangerous trend of companies selling off or de-risking retirees pension assets; retiree health benefit reductions; important retiree legislation in Albany and Washington, DC; shareholder proxy proposals; sickness/death benefits and more.
Recent and longtime Verizon retirees alike, are welcomed and encouraged to participate.
Founded in 1996, the Association of BellTel Retirees has over 134,000 members from across the nation, many in the local area. It fights to protect retirees’ earned pensions and health care benefits.
