Association of BellTel Retirees hosts meeting August 22nd to discuss important retirement concerns—including protecting pensions and health benefits—of fellow retirees

All are welcomed to attend! Telephone company retirees from throughout Long Island and Southeast New York will gather for an open discussion about key issues that impact their collective retirement futures. The event is sponsored by the Association of BellTel Retirees, a non-profit group that works to protect the pensions and benefits of over 134,000 Verizon retirees, many of which live in New York.
The event is free and will take place Thursday, August 22, 2019 at 11:00am at the Hauppauge Public Library – Hauppauge, NY 11788 To RSVP, email association@belltelretirees.org or call the Association of BellTel Retirees office toll free at 1-800-261-9222. Seating may be limited, so please RSVP as soon as possible.
The meeting will address several salient issues relating to retirement benefits, including: pension protection; the dangerous trend of companies selling off or de-risking retirees pension assets; retiree health benefit reductions; important retiree legislation in Albany and Washington, DC; shareholder proxy proposals; sickness/death benefits and more.
All recent and longtime telephone company retirees alike, are welcomed and encouraged to participate.
Founded in 1996, the Association of BellTel Retirees has over 134,000 members from across the nation, many in the local area. It fights to protect retirees’ earned pensions and health care benefits.
