"Take Dad for a hike as we go up the west side of Connetquot River State Park past the backyards of the neighboring houses, checking out the horses in the paddocks; hen we will head to Bunce’s Bridge and come back along the river’s edge and pick up the Red Trail; optional lunch at Bayard Cutting Arboretum afterwards; meet in the main entrance parking lot on the north side of NY 27, west of Oakdale-Bohemia Rd.; from the west take Sunrise Highway Exit 47A and follow U-turn signs back west to park entrance; from the east, entrance is on your right; parking fee, or free with Empire Passport; heavy rain cancels.
